STOW, Ohio – April 22, 2020 – Mactac® proudly announces its recognition as the first pressure-sensitive adhesive manufacturer to have products listed in the BioPreferred™ program established by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).
The BioPreferred™ distinction recognizes that Mactac has developed the first pressure-sensitive adhesives to be independently tested and certified as USDA bio-based products.
According to the USDA-led BioPreferred™ Program, bio-based products are derived from plants and other renewable agricultural, marine and forestry materials. They provide an alternative to conventional petroleum-based products. Per the program requirements, BioPreferred™ adhesives must use biobased and renewable components instead of petroleum-based components.
Mactac has received USDA BioPreferred™ certification on the following products:
