There’s something to be said about introducing a new product with a splash. For the team at Canon Solutions America, unveiling the Colorado M Series printer called for more than a typical introduction. With the printer set to debut at the 2023 ISA International Sign Expo, Canon decided to host a pre-launch event before the expo. They wanted to captivate attendees by showcasing the printer’s vast application options, so they turned to Mactac®.
“Our partnership with Mactac is all about sharing information and helping us show what our printer technology can do,” said Angel Georgiou, Canon Solutions America. “We’ve been working with Mactac since the launch of our first Colorado, and when you can call a vendor, ask questions and get answers, it’s a great partnership.”
Together, Mactac and Canon transformed Canon’s Customer Experience Center in Itasca, IL. A demonstration room sported a wall of Roodle® (RO628) removable wall graphics with images of application possibilities. Using the Colorado UV-gel FLX Finish Plus capability on the M Series and Colorado 1650 printers, the graphics had a unique varnish look. Also displayed were three sets of window graphics. B-free® Clear (JT5999MBF v2) and Dusted (JT5798MBF v2) Window Films emphasize the printer’s “white” ink and new media sensor technology, which offer the appearance of white ink, but produce clear, matte black, and metallic finishes on printed media.
“We love using ROODLE to showcase the FLX Finish technology because we can print gloss and matte at the same time,” Georgiou added. “We have more than 30 Mactac products profiled for the Colorado printer series, and Mactac continues to add products to their line-up, expanding our range of applications.”
B-free Clear and Matte Dusted Window Films are 3.1-mil vinyl products coated on one side with a micro-structured, repositionable, clear permanent acrylic adhesive. The adhesive delivers fast, easy, no-mess dry application without air bubbles or wrinkling. JT5999 has an 80# layflat liner, and JT5798 has a 91# layflat liner. B-free Window Films are designed for solvent-based inkjet printing and are ideal for indoor and outdoor window graphics and internally illuminated signs.
ROODLE is a 6.0-mil matte white, semi-rigid calendared PVC film designed for tiled murals, indoor and outdoor signage, bumper stickers, and graphics. It features an aggressive removable adhesive, 90# SuperFlatTM liner, and can be edge-printed on UV screen, UV-gel, solvent and eco-solvent inkjet, and UV off-set print technologies.
