MACtac® Medical Products Introduces New Matte Films to Acrysure™ Line

Medical

With the addition of non-glare, matte-finishes to its long-standing, trusted Acrysure™ line of polyethylene films, MACtac® Medical Products is once again helping to advance the medical industry - from OEMs to design engineers to end-users.

The new single-coated polyethylene-based matte films include the 1.5-mil TM1015 and the 3.0-mil TM1030, both of which are customizable and offer a variety of capabilities to meet customers' specific design needs.

"The inclusion of matte finish capabilities allows MACtac Medical Products to offer converters, OEMs and design engineers a variety of finish options, depending on their application needs," said Aaron Smith, technical marketing manager, MACtac Medical Products. "The films are also translucent and provide excellent liquid barrier properties. In addition to assisting in isolating and providing a sterile field around the surgical site, these films prevent light glare or shine from interfering with a surgeon's line of site during surgery."

Featuring MACtac's time-tested medical-grade pressure-sensitive adhesive systems, the new matte films are ideal for manufacturers of surgical drapes for incise applications where a matte or non-glare finish is essential to operational success. And, the new TM1015 and TM1030 offer moderate breathability properties and clean removal from skin, also making the polyethylene-based films the perfect solution for ostomy applications and liquid strike-through protection as well.

Supported by MACtac Medical Products' vigorous quality management system, which ensures quality product development, the Acrysure line continues to provide customers with a safe, effective, low-risk solution backed by proven technology that has served the medical device industry for more than 25 years.

MACtac Medical Products' long-standing Acrysure product line offers a variety of film, foam, and non-woven constructions to meet specific product requirements. All MACtac Medical Products adhesives are tested according to ISO 10993-5/-10 standards for cytotoxicity, skin irritation and skin sensitization and are suitable for sustained skin contact with third-party biocompatibility documentation, and are stable after EtO or gamma sterilization.
