MACtac® Specialty Products and Xennovate Medical LLC Announce New Supply Chain Alliance

New alliance brings integrated and cohesive, patented hydrocolloid solutions

As demand for moisture absorbing, skin-friendly adhesive products in the medical device assembly market continues to increase, MACtac®, a global supplier of pressure-sensitive adhesive products, leverages its medical-grade adhesive systems and extensive expertise through a supply chain alliance with Xennovate Medical LLC. The new alliance broadens customer access to Xennovate Medical’s patented hydrocolloids for wound, skin and ostomy applications and reinforces MACtac’s position as one of the top specialty suppliers in the medical industry.

With more than 25 years serving the medical industry, MACtac is a long-time supplier to manufacturers who convert private label medical products for OEM medical marketing companies. Through its customizable medical-grade adhesive systems, MACtac can offer these converters and customers skin-friendly medical adhesives for a wide range of coated options for foams, films and non-wovens to fit a variety of medical device applications.

“Since our customers require products with skin-friendly adhesion and substantial absorption for days without dissolving into a wound or stoma effluent, we needed to align with a company that had in-depth technical expertise of advanced adhesive technologies for the medical products market,” said Neil Kosterman, managing director, Xennovate Medical. “Through our alliance with MACtac, we not only gain exposure for our hydrocolloid products, but also respect from converters and OEMs by aligning with a broadly based adhesive company that is the expert in the industry.”

Xennovate Medical’s product line currently offers five commercial formulations, including two for moist wound management, two for ostomy devices and one for skin attachments requiring high shear adhesion. Xennovate Medical can also provide customers with a patented ease-of-removal technology that reduces the pain of removing aggressive adhesives and the risk of tearing fragile skin. Xennovate Medical looks for opportunities to assist customers in developing innovative applications employing its integrated hydrocolloids.

“We’re excited about our alliance with Xennovate Medical because it gives us an opportunity to provide more options to OEMs looking to produce quality products in the marketplace and, ultimately, for patients,” said Steve Sargeant, general manager, MACtac Specialty Products. “Our customers expect the best from us, so it’s imperative that we continually invest in our technologies and broaden our product line through innovation and alliances. Aligning with Xennovate Medical to support its product development is one more example of our commitment.”
